One of the biggest challenges facing enterprise IT managers today is the management of complexity: The IT industry has proved itself much better at inventing new technology than finding ways to phase old solutions. Everywhere companies are faced with an ever-deepening mess of generations of technology to manage. The challenge is to put in management that will encourage future innovation, and be flexible enough to support tasks like utility computing, management of grids, load balancing, the need to support new billing models and the need to manage service levels.

System management software is a strongly growing segment of the Russian software market, with sales growing at well over 20% annually. The Russian enterprise market is maturing rapidly and the management of all forms of IT infrastructure is increasingly becoming a major focus of interest to large corporate customers.

During the last decade, large Russian user organizations have made major investments into IT infrastructure – with a particular focus on hardware. Today at many of the giants in the Russian economy, the focus is on manageability, standardization, cost accounting, and on aligning IT infrastructure services with business processes. It is becoming increasingly critical to build effective links between IT departments and other business units.

IT service management solutions provide a framework for corporate users to address these new challenges - a means of blending IT infrastructure management with the culture of an existing business.
